Only 36,000 New Jobs, but Unemployment Drops to 9.0%

Which part of this story would you prefer to believe?

The unemployment rate dropped sharply last month to 9 percent, based on a government survey that found that more than a half-million people found work. A separate Labor Department survey of company payrolls showed 36,000 net jobs created — barely a quarter of the number needed to keep pace with population growth.

Or do you believe it all because the RGJ printed it?
Be aware that the story refers to nation wide numbers and not Nevada.  The most recent number I saw for Nevada unemployment was 14.5%.
And for even more Nevada Unemployment data, although it is getting a bit old.
