Montana Constitutional Initiative Hopes to Ban Real Estate Transfer Tax


 Montana, along with 12 other states does not tax on real estate sales and transfers.  But the Montana legislature has repeatedly tried to slip one in.

A coalition of business and agricultural groups is working to pass Constitutional Initiative 105 on the Nov. 2 ballot to prevent any further legislative or other action.

CI-105 would amend the Montana Constitution to prohibit state and local governments from imposing any new tax on real estate sales and trades. No such tax exists in Montana now.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could follow suit here in Nevada?
