The National Association of Home Builders, NAHB, published a quarterly Home Opportunity Index showing that more than 72 percent of all new and existing homes sold between January-March 2010 were affordable to families earning the national median income.
The report shows data for 225 major metropolitan areas with the areas ranked for affordability based on the national median income.
Bay City, MI ranked # 1 on the list with 98.7% of the homes considered affordable based on the areas median income. The Reno area ranked # 168 with 71.1% of the homes affordable based on the areas median income. This was very similar to the national average.
