Dontcha just hate it when those evil health insurance companies are ripping us all off? Well, me too. But, before we get all lathered up, check out this AP story published in none other than the New York Times.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo? Answer: They’re all more profitable than the health insurance industry.
In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers making ”immoral” and ”obscene” returns while ”the bodies pile up.”
How ironic. Notice how both AP and the New York Times said, “Democrats and their allies” as though they weren’t major players in attempting to shape public opinion. Do they now want us to discard all our Tupperware and boycott Hersheys chocolate too?
